About Us
Diabetes Tauranga Inc provides its service to give fast, accessible help with the difficulties of living successfully with Diabetes in our community.
The Organisation
Diabetes Tauranga is an entirely voluntary, independant, local, incorporated society of 500 members, run by a committee elected from its members, which has the support of, and a close relationship with, Diabetes New Zealand. Your membership of Tauranga Diabetes includes membership of Diabetes New Zealand and gives reduced prices from Diabetes Supplies Ltd, a mail order Diabetes specialist shop.
Diabetes Helpline
A 24 hour 7 days a week answerphone message service, to which professionally trained, experienced Diabetes Tauranga personnel will respond.
The phone service provides practical assistance with Diabetes over the phone with follow-up information provided by post, or in person where necessary, with individual appointments either in our rooms or your home.The Helpline will refer callers to an appropriate health professional when unable to meet the level of professional advice required.
Members & Meetings
Diabetes Tauranga welcomes members from Whitanga to Whakatane. Public meetings with specialist speakers on topics related to diabetes are held monthly, from February to November, at both evening and afternoon times, giving opportunities to meet informally with both the speakers and other people living with Diabetes. Meetings are held where they are required, currently in Tauranga, Te Puke and Katikati.
