What we do
The Foundation is New Zealand's primary provider of vision-related rehabilitation services to members that range in age from newborns to 102.We provide them with the adaptive skills, technology and resources they need to create new beginnings and lead more independant lives.
The Foundation teaches our members that they can learn new ways of doing the things they used to.
By employing adaptive living techniques, challenges around the home can be over come. Simple techniques help give lives back. Mobility is regained by learning to use a white cane or by partnering with a guide dog.Computer technology is helping blind New zealanders back into the work place or off to university to study.
Leave a lasting gift to help the blind
The Royal New Zealand Foundation of the Blind has many wonderful supporters. Their relationship with the Foundation often begins in childhood, perhaps through a friend or family member who is blind, and continues for decades. This partnership allows the Foundation to support blind, deafblind and vision-impaired New Zealanders now, and in the future.
