Occupational Therapy can help you with your
everyday tasks such as; showering and dressing, making yourself a meal, getting
in and out of your bed or chair, shopping, catching a taxi and spending time
with your friends/grandchildren. Occupational Therapists work with people
of all ages who have difficulties completing tasks due to a disability, illness
or impairment.
Occupational Therapists aim is to help people maintain or maximize
their independence and be safe when completing their everyday tasks or when
participating in their meaningful activities. To maintain or maximize
independence and safety, an Occupational Therapist may support you to; learn a
new way of doing a task, help you to identify your priorities and what’s
important in your life, make changes to your home environment, trial a piece of
equipment or adaptive device and/or suggest a suitable level of support.
