Elder abuse comes in many forms - it is not always obvious and is generally unreported reported: Abuse can be physical, social, emotional, financial or psychological. It invariably stems from a relationship of trust that has been abused.
Sometimes elder abuse emerges from ignorance, ie the perpetrator does not appreciate the older person's changing needs, or understand their behaviour.
